The best place for ministry to happen is in the context of personal relationships—This is our conviction at Grace Fellowship, so we've made a conscious choice to offer only a very few official ministries. This way, everyone in the church has time and energy for building relationships.
Encounter Grace
We believe God has called us to help those who don't yet know Him to encounter His grace. Most of the time, these encounters happen outside of the church, so we encourage everyone to spend time and build individual relationships with people at work, in the neighborhood, and in the community, and to love them genuinely, in a way that reflects the grace of God.
We also believe it's important to work together so that those who don't yet know Him will encounter His grace as they see "the church in action," caring for real needs in the community. Along with the ministry work that individuals are doing on a personal level, Grace Fellowship has one official "church in action" ministry right now: Angel Tree Christmas.
Angel Tree Christmas is a ministry of Prison Fellowship International that connects parents in local prisons with their children through the delivery of Christmas gifts. Grace Fellowship volunteers purchase and deliver gifts and the gospel to children in the name of their incarcerated parent.
Engage in Fellowship
Some of those who encounter God's grace through relationships outside the church may become interested in visiting a Sunday morning worship service. The goal of every Sunday-morning ministry is to help everyone who attends engage in fellowship with God. These ministries include:
- Serving on the Worship Team
- Preaching
- Greeting
- Setting up, taking down and collecting the offering
- Operating the sound board
- Caring for the nursery-age kids
Along with engaging in fellowship with God in the service, we also want to engage with each other in fellowship. In addition to our time together on Sunday morning, we also have monthly fellowship events for men and for women. To find out what's coming up, keep an eye on the coming events list on this site and in the Sunday bulletin. If you're interested in helping with planning, you can contact one of the Fellowship Event Coordinators.
Equip for Life
For people who have visited Sunday services and attended fellowship events and now want more, we offer a deeper level of ministry called "Life Groups." These small groups, which meet once a week, provide many opportunities for ministering, including overseeing, hosting, teaching, leading worship, providing personal support and pastoral care, and organizing group socials and group ministry endeavors.
Oversight & Support Ministries
Missions Coordinator
Grace Fellowship is currently committed to supporting four missionary endeavors. Two of the missionary groups we are invested in are in sensitive-access countries, so we can't name them online. (If you're interested, please contact the church office for more information.) The two we can share freely about are Melanie Carlson in Hungary and Jerry Dean in Poland. Both Melanie and Jerry were members of Grace Fellowship before being called to the mission field. The Missions Coordinator keeps us informed about what each missionary is doing, what needs they have, and how we can be praying for them.
Intercessors
We believe that consistent, persevering prayer is the foundation that supports everything we do. We also believe that in God all things are possible when we pray. Intercessors make a commitment to pray regularly for Grace Fellowship, and the Elders and other church leaders supply them with regular updates and requests to help focus their prayers.
Elders, Deacons & Officers
The positions of Elder and Deacon and the various offices of the church (Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Missions Treasurer and Secretary) are filled by official members who demonstrate spiritual maturity, have a sense of calling, and have been active participants in Grace Fellowship for a significant amount of time. Before a person is appointed to one of these roles, the members must vote their approval. You can learn how we think about church leadership at Leadership & Ministry Oversight, or get more detail about what Elders, Deacons and Officers do at Nominating Candidates for Offices.
